Walnut Grove Academy opened its doors June 18, 2007.  This facility is equipped with the most up-to-date technology  in child care.  The Academy is licensed for 150 children. 

The parents are given a pass code to enter the building or must be buzzed in by the office staff.  Security cameras are located outside and inside the building and can be monitored and recorded by staff. Additionally, parents can monitor their child's day on their work or home computer. In the past, parents have missed this part of their child's life, now they may see all the excitement going on in their child's classroom.

Walnut Grove Academy is organized to provide high quality child care and education.  We have made the rooms small for the pre-toddlers and toddlers to have a more one-on-one atmosphere.  We have a wonderful large multipurpose room for all of our plays, graduations, parties, visitors, etc. 

Our parents helped the Academy to purchase six computers, printers, and flat screen monitors through a successful cookie sale. Children have access to this technology on a weekly basis in our media room. The computers are not hooked up to the web and we do not plan to do so to ensure the safety of the children.

You will find children’s music playing thru the building on our great sound system.  If a teacher needs someone to help in their classroom, this system is also an intercom to call the office staff for assistance.

In our infant room, tiny fiber-optic lights twinkle above the cribs helping the infants fall to sleep as if under the starry sky. This is now being installed. Soft, instumental music plays in the background to soothe the babies to sleep.
